Bag rules side by side

These rows come from each Vancouver venue's own policy page.

Bag policy

  • BC PlaceConditional

BC Place strongly encourages guests to bring no bag. Bags no larger than 6.5 x 8.5 inches are allowed, and so is a clear plastic bag, freezer bags included, up to 12 x 12 x 6 inches. All bags are searched.

  • Rogers ArenaConditional

Bags, including purses and backpacks, must not exceed 14 x 14 x 6 inches. Guests with larger bags must return them to a vehicle or another secure area before entering, and the prohibited list still names bags or luggage.

Bag storage at the verified venues

Rogers Arena: Guests with bags over the limit must return them to their vehicles or another secure area. Strollers can be checked at the Guest Services Centres at Sections 104 (hockey games only), 114 and 311.

BC Place: Bag check is available at events, first come, first served, for 10 dollars per piece. Storage is at the sole risk of the person who leaves the bag. If a banned item is found during a search, you can check it at bag check when it is open, return it to your vehicle or hotel, or hand it over for disposal.

Questions about Vancouver venues

  1. Not by default. The bag rules we have verified in Vancouver differ: Rogers Arena (up to 14 x 14 x 6 in) and BC Place (up to 6.5 x 8.5 in, or clear 12 x 12 x 6). A smaller bag is the easier choice if you visit more than one, but read each venue page.

  2. No. These are the pilot venues. We add more in waves, starting with the places people search for most.
