Paycor Stadium, Northwest Stadium, Little Caesars Arena, Comerica Park, Target Center and Delta Center ban it, with medical and dietary exceptions, and EverBank Stadium, Truist Park, Progressive Field and Citizens Bank Park say nothing about food. Almost every NBA and NHL arena added since bans outside food and drink, usually with a medical or baby-food exception, while SAP Center allows reasonable amounts of food at Sharks games and bans it at concerts. Universal Orlando allows only medical, dietary and baby food, Universal Studios Hollywood adds small snacks, and both allow a small soft-sided cooler.
- Empower Field at Mile High and M&T Bank Stadium allow food in a clear bag, and Busch Stadium allows food outright. Highmark Stadium bans outside beverages and does not mention food, Capital One Arena bans outside food and drink, and Raymond James Stadium, Allegiant Stadium, Lucas Oil Stadium, NRG Stadium, Ford Field and State Farm Arena ban both.
- One stadium allows food for your own use, with whole fruit sliced or sectioned first. A theme park says staff will not store or heat food you bring. Rogers Centre allows food that is wrapped or bagged and small enough to fit under your seat.
- Some NFL stadiums allow food only in a clear plastic bag or a container that fits the bag policy, and ban coolers. Others ban outside food unless it is medically required.
- The arenas we checked ban outside food and beverage. One lists medical needs as the route to an exception, and another lets fans with allergies bring food after calling ahead. Wembley, Tottenham and Six Flags ban outside food too, with short lists of exceptions. Wrigley Field allows a personal amount of food in a small disposable bag, and Dodger Stadium allows food in a clear bag up to 12 x 12 x 6 inches. BC Place, The O2, TD Garden, Chase Center, Toyota Center, Kaseya Center, Fiserv Forum, Nissan Stadium, Bank of America Stadium, Caesars Superdome, AT&T Stadium, T-Mobile Center, ACL Live, Ascend Amphitheater and Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre ban outside food, as do Arrowhead Stadium, Lambeau Field, Gillette Stadium, Barclays Center, Xfinity Mobile Arena and Ball Arena, while Acrisure Stadium and Lincoln Financial Field allow it in a clear plastic bag, while Lumen Field and Shoreline Amphitheatre allow it in a clear bag, a single serving at Lumen Field and a one-gallon bag at Shoreline.
- Alcohol is banned at every venue we checked that mentions it, apart from a few resort hotel and dining exceptions at Disney.
Before you go
- 1Pack food in the container the venue allows. A clear bag is the safe default at clear bag venues.
- 2Skip coolers, glass and thermoses. They are banned where venues mention them.
- 3If you need food for a medical reason, contact the venue before the event.
Questions about outside food
Sometimes. Some stadiums allow food for your own use, and others require it to be in a clear bag. Open the stadium page for the exact rule.
Not at the arenas (ACL Live does not name them), the amphitheaters, Wembley, BC Place, Dodger Stadium or Six Flags, and not at the NFL stadiums we checked, apart from Lumen Field, Caesars Superdome and Mercedes-Benz Stadium, which do not name coolers but limit you to the approved bags. Citi Field allows small soft-sided coolers up to 16 x 16 x 8 inches, and Oracle Park bans only hard-sided ones. Busch Stadium allows soft-sided coolers up to 10 x 8 x 10 inches, Target Field allows single-compartment soft-sided ones up to 16 x 16 x 8 inches, and Petco Park bans only hard-sided ones. Rogers Centre, Wrigley Field and Fenway Park ban hard-sided ones, and Wrigley allows small soft-sided ones. Disney's parks allow coolers up to 24 x 15 x 18 inches, with no loose ice.
Policies treat this differently. One stadium allows glass baby bottles as an exception, decided case by case. Another allows medically necessary formula, Disney's parks exclude baby food jars from their glass ban, and Six Flags allows infant food in non-glass jars. Contact the venue if you are unsure.
