Bag policy in detail

Bags, backpacks, purses, totes, clear bags, fanny packs and camera bags are not allowed. Small clutches and wallets smaller than 5 by 9 by 1 inches are allowed, and they are subject to security inspection.

Medical and parental bags smaller than 14 by 14 by 6 inches have to go through an X-ray machine security screening. Ask a Guest Services team member on site for the nearest screening entry.

Guests arriving with larger bags can rent a Binbox locker next to the Kobe Bryant Entrance, using the Binbox app.

  • Only clutches and wallets smaller than 5 x 9 x 1 inches
  • No backpacks, totes, clear bags or fanny packs

Food and drink

Outside food and beverages are not permitted inside the arena. The one exception is an unopened plastic water bottle of one liter or smaller, one per person. Glass and metal bottles, cans, flasks and coolers are prohibited.

The arena offers kosher and gluten-free food inside. The A-Z guide says plastic bottles, formula and breast pumps are permitted, and glass bottles are not. Drinking fountains are on the main concourse aisles 6, 9, 17 and 22 and upper concourse aisles 5, 16 and 30.

Cameras and electronics

Non-professional, non-flash still photography is allowed at most events, with disposable, digital or 35mm cameras that have no interchangeable or telephoto lens. For some events the artist, performer or team can ban cameras of any type.

Video recording devices, audio recording devices, GoPros, monopods, tripods, selfie sticks and cameras with telephoto or interchangeable lenses are not permitted at any time. Video recording on any device and flash photography are prohibited at all times. Tablets, laptops and computers are on the prohibited list.

The pages do not say whether you can bring your own power bank. You can rent a portable charger at chargeFUZE stations on the main and upper concourses.

Strollers and family items

Strollers are not permitted in the seating sections of the arena, and guests are encouraged to leave them in their vehicles. The pages do not describe stroller storage.

Parental bags smaller than 14 by 14 by 6 inches go through X-ray screening. Plastic bottles, formula and breast pumps are permitted. Children 3 years and older need a ticket for most events, and some children's shows set a different age policy.

Umbrellas, blankets and comfort items

Pointed-tip umbrellas are on the prohibited list. The pages do not say whether other umbrellas are allowed.

The pages do not mention blankets or seat cushions. Since bags are not allowed, anything you bring has to be carried in your hands and pass inspection.

Signs, flags and fan items

Small signs that relate to the event are welcome, unless the teams or event officials say otherwise. A sign cannot be attached to a stick or pole, cannot be larger than 11 by 17 inches, and cannot block sponsor signage or anyone's view. It cannot be hung or attached to the building, and it cannot show obscene or offensive language or pictures.

Flags and banners are on the prohibited list. So are noise-making devices, laser pointers, light or glow sticks, flashlights, fireworks, and fully inflated basketballs.

Medical needs and accessibility

Medical and parental bags under 14 by 14 by 6 inches are screened by X-ray. Guest Services gives complimentary wheelchair escorts on request at any entrance, or by calling 213-742-7326.

The pages do not describe a separate process for other medical items, so contact Guest Services before the event.

Security screening and arrival

All guests are screened. Guests who leave and want to come back must first ask a Guest Services team member to scan their ticket, and then repeat the security screening and ticket scan on return.

The arena is smoke-free at all times, including outdoor patios and terraces. Door times vary by event, so check the event page.

Bag storage and lockers

Binbox lockers are next to the Kobe Bryant Entrance at the LA Kings Monument, near Chick Hearn Plaza and Georgia Street. Pricing starts at 15 dollars per checked bag, and it is not refundable. Cards and mobile payment work, and cash does not.

Bag check opens an hour before general doors and closes an hour after the event, and bags left after that go to Lost and Found. The arena is not responsible for lost, stolen, broken or damaged items in the lockers.

Games, concerts and other events

The prohibited items list is described as applying to all arena events and as subject to change. For some events, cameras of any type are banned at the request of the artist, performer or team.

Sign rules can also change when teams or event officials set their own. Contact Guest Services if you have a question about your event.
