What medical bags rules look like

  • United Center allows required medical equipment and asks that an oversized medical bag be at least two thirds full of supplies.
  • SoFi Stadium and Soldier Field allow medical bags after screening, and SoFi gives you a bag tag.
  • Crypto.com Arena and Scotiabank Arena x-ray medical bags, and Scotiabank asks you to contact its operator first. Wrigley Field, Fenway Park, BC Place and TD Garden make exceptions for medical bags and diaper bags.
  • Wembley requires a Medical Exemption Certificate that you request before the event, and Rogers Centre lists soft-sided medical bags as permitted.
  • Lumen Field handles medical bags at named gates, Levi's Stadium inspects them and gives you a wristband or sticker, and AT&T Stadium inspects them at a designated gate. Chase Center applies its 14 x 6 x 14 inch limit to medical bags too.
  • Caesars Superdome allows medical bags after inspection and tagging, and they need not be clear. Nissan Stadium permits medically necessary items at all gates, Bank of America Stadium wants an approval for medical containers, and Acrisure Stadium inspects them at the gate. Toyota Center lists medical bags as permitted, Kaseya Center x-rays them, and Fiserv Forum asks for five days' notice for medically necessary items. Ascend Amphitheater searches and tags medical and diaper bags, T-Mobile Center screens and tags them, and ACL Live permits them after inspection. Ball Arena, Xfinity Mobile Arena, Citi Field and Oracle Park make exceptions for diaper and medical bags too, and Lincoln Financial Field, Arrowhead Stadium and Mercedes-Benz Stadium inspect medically necessary items. M&T Bank Stadium has Family Medical Lanes at all four gates, Lucas Oil Stadium exempts medical bags from its clear bag rule, Capital One Arena and State Farm Arena allow medical and diaper bags, and Raymond James Stadium describes no medical process. Huntington Bank Field uses medical exception entrances, Truist Park, Petco Park, Paycor Stadium, EverBank Stadium and State Farm Stadium make exceptions after inspection, and Little Caesars Arena and Delta Center allow medical and diaper bags that are searched or x-rayed. Comerica Park, American Family Field, PNC Park, Great American Ball Park, Globe Life Field and Daikin Park make exceptions for medical or diaper bags, Chase Field sends guests with medical items to an ADA lane at Gate A or E, and Progressive Field allows them within 16 x 16 x 8 inches. Kauffman Stadium may make exceptions after inspection, and Coors Field describes no exception. Angel Stadium, Nationals Park, Citizens Bank Park, Camden Yards, Rate Field, T-Mobile Park and loanDepot park allow medical and diaper bags after a search or in a designated lane, Tropicana Field allows one bag of medical equipment and one infant bag, and Sutter Health Park searches non-clear diaper bags. Almost every NBA and NHL arena added since lets medical, diaper or parenting bags past its size limit after an x-ray or extra search, up to 12 x 12 x 12 inches at Honda Center and Benchmark International Arena and 14 x 14 x 6 at Moda Center, Intuit Dome and Kia Center. Paycom Center, Smoothie King Center, T-Mobile Arena and Bell Centre describe no exception.
  • Other venues we checked describe no separate medical bag process, so ask before you go.
  • One arena asks guests with medical needs to contact Guest Relations.
  • One stadium allows exceptions for medical needs on bottles and cans, decided by staff.
  • Some NFL stadiums allow seat cushions for medical needs.

Before you go

  1. 1Contact the venue a few days before the event, not on the day.
  2. 2Bring any paperwork that shows the need, in case staff ask at the gate.
  3. 3Keep medical supplies in a small, clear bag where the venue requires clear bags.

Questions about medical bags

  1. Policies rarely describe this. Contact the venue before the event to ask what it allows for medical supplies.

  2. Some do, but the details differ. The venue page says what its official source states, and says so when it does not mention it.

  3. Usually venue staff. The venues we checked point to guest services or decide case by case.
