Short answer

Audi Field allows bags up to 14 by 14 by 6 inches, including clear and cinch bags, but no backpacks, luggage, large purses or hard-sided coolers. Outside food and drink, umbrellas, laptops, tripods and selfie sticks are banned, and one sealed 20-ounce water bottle is allowed only during a heat advisory.

Bag policy in detail

No bags larger than 14 x 14 x 6 inches are allowed, and no backpacks or luggage. Cinch bags that fit the size limit are allowed. Fans are strongly encouraged to bring no bag, and there are separate lanes for fans with and without bags. Backpacks and luggage of any size are not allowed, though cinch bags that fit the size limit are. Large purses and similar bags that exceed the size limit are not allowed.

Food and drink

Glass, metal or plastic containers of any kind are not permitted. During a heat advisory, D.C. United allows one sealed bottle of water per person up to 20 ounces, and says so in advance. Outside food and beverage is prohibited. Hard-sided coolers or containers of any size are prohibited.

Cameras and electronics

Cameras and video equipment are allowed for personal use only. Professional and commercial grade cameras are not allowed, and camera bags must follow the bag policy. Only credentialed media may bring cameras with a lens longer than eight inches. Tripods, monopods and selfie sticks are prohibited. Drones are on the prohibited items list. Laptop computers are on the prohibited items list. The pages do not mention tablets and power banks.

Strollers and family items

Strollers are permitted in all concourse areas. Strollers that cannot fold up and fit under a seat must be checked at no cost at stroller check-in just inside Gate A. Special considerations are made for guests with special medical needs and parents caring for infants.

Umbrellas, blankets and comfort items

Umbrellas are on the prohibited items list. Seat cushions larger than 16 x 16 inches, or with armrests or metal backs, are prohibited. The pages do not mention blankets.

Signs, flags and fan items

Larger signs, flags and banners are permitted in the supporter sections if they do not block signage, contain offensive content or use tape or glue. Larger flags are permitted in the supporter sections under the same guidelines as signs. Poles of any kind are prohibited. The pages do not mention binoculars.
