Short answer
Fenway Park allows single-compartment bags up to 12 by 12 by 6 inches, clear or not. Backpacks, including clear ones, and other multi-compartment bags are banned, apart from diaper and medical bags. One sealed 16 ounce plastic water bottle is allowed. A third-party locker truck stores banned bags for a fee.

An item that is not listed is not mentioned in the official pages we checked. Each row links to the page its rule came from.
Bag policy in detail
Bags must be single-compartment and no larger than 12 by 12 by 6 inches. Backpacks, backpack-style purses, duffel bags and other multi-compartment bags are not permitted. Exceptions are made for diaper bags and bags containing essential medical equipment.
To speed up entry, the Red Sox encourage single-compartment clear bags, which also have to be no larger than 12 by 12 by 6 inches. Clear backpacks are not allowed. All persons, bags and personal items are subject to physical inspection, and refusing a search means being refused entry.
- Single-compartment bags up to 12 x 12 x 6 inches
- Clear bags are encouraged, not required
- No backpacks, clear ones included, and no duffel bags
- Diaper and medical bag exceptions
Food and drink
Cans, bottles and glass containers are prohibited, with one exception: a single sealed 16 ounce plastic bottle of water. Hard-sided coolers and alcoholic beverages are prohibited too.
The pages do not say whether you can bring in food. Food and beverage sales inside are fully cashless.
Cameras and electronics
Consumer-rated cameras and video cameras are allowed, but they cannot be used to reproduce the game or film unauthorized content, and they cannot interfere with other fans. Professional audio and visual equipment is prohibited, and the examples include tripods, monopods, microphones and detachable lenses longer than 6 inches.
Drones are prohibited at all times in and around the park. The pages do not mention laptops or tablets. ChargeFUZE machines in several concourses let you rent a portable charger and return it to any station.
Strollers and family items
Stroller parking is available inside Gate C next to the WEEI radio booth, and inside Gate A at the roll-up gate entrance by 24 Jersey Street. Diaper bags are an exception to the bag rules, and they are searched.
Umbrellas, blankets and comfort items
Umbrellas are allowed inside Fenway Park, but they can be used only during official rain delays.
The pages do not mention blankets or seat cushions.
Signs, flags and fan items
Signs can be admitted if they do not exceed 24 by 18 inches, block sightlines, cover existing signage, carry commercial or political messages, create a disturbance or contain obscene or offensive language. Signs cannot be paraded around the ballpark, attached to permanent structures, or hung over fascia boards or the Green Monster.
Flags can be admitted if they are smaller than 18 by 24 inches and not attached to a pole or stick made of hard material. Larger flags can be admitted for official cultural, heritage or theme celebrations. Noisemakers of any kind, including musical instruments, laser pointers, strobe lights, costumes and costume masks are prohibited.
Medical needs and accessibility
Exceptions to the bag policy are made for bags containing essential medical equipment, and for diaper bags. The park has an accessibility guide for other needs.
Security screening and arrival
All fans entering Fenway Park are screened by metal detectors or, sometimes, a physical search. Fans who cannot or choose not to use the metal detector are checked with a hand-held detector or a light physical search.
Exiting and re-entering the park is not permitted at any gate. Smoking, vaping and tobacco are prohibited in all areas, including Jersey Street.
Bag storage and lockers
The Red Sox do not store prohibited items, and anything left at the screening area is treated as surrendered and discarded. Fans who arrive with a bag that is not permitted can store it for a fee with a third-party locker company. The locker truck is on top of the Lansdowne Garage, across from Gate E.
Red Sox games and other events
These rules are written for Red Sox games. The page says Fenway Park is a private facility and can prohibit any item not on its list for public safety and enjoyment.
The pages do not give a separate list for concerts or other events at Fenway. Check the event page for your date.
