Short answer

Tropicana Field has a clear bag policy: one single-compartment clear bag up to 12 by 6 by 12 inches or a one-gallon bag, plus a small clutch up to 5 by 7 inches. Backpacks, hard coolers and outside food are banned, apart from one sealed water bottle up to 20 ounces. There is no bag storage.

An item that is not listed is not mentioned in the official pages we checked. Each row links to the page its rule came from.

Bag policy in detail

One single-compartment clear bag up to 12 x 6 x 12 inches per person, or a clear reusable gallon bag, plus one small single-pocket clutch, wallet or fanny pack up to 5 x 7 inches that need not be clear. The guide words the clear size as 12 x 12 x 6 inches, the same bag. Backpacks, luggage, computer bags, camera bags and briefcases are not approved. The guide says backpacks and non-transparent bags are not permitted. A small single-pocket clutch, wallet or fanny pack up to 5 x 7 inches is allowed and need not be clear. Anything larger has to be clear and fit the clear bag rule.

Food and drink

Each ticketed fan may bring one sealed bottle of water of 20 ounces or less, or one empty plastic bottle or cup. Metal, stainless steel, ceramic and glass bottles are not allowed, and an empty plastic refillable bottle is for the hydration stations. Outside food and drinks are not permitted, apart from one sealed bottle of water. Exceptions can be made for food needed for medical reasons or childcare. Hard-sided coolers, boxes and cases of any size are prohibited. Soft-sided ones would have to fit the clear bag rule, and outside food and drinks are banned anyway.

Cameras and electronics

Personal still and video cameras are allowed if they do not block views. The guide says cameras must be hand-held with lenses under 12 inches, and tripods or similar stabilization poles are prohibited. Camera bags are not approved. Cameras with lenses longer than 12 inches are prohibited. Tripods and similar stabilization poles are prohibited, and so are selfie sticks and extenders. Drones and radio-controlled devices are prohibited. Small radios, laptops, tablets and other electronic devices are allowed when used with personal headphones. Computer bags are not approved, and the item still has to fit an approved bag. Small radios, laptops, tablets and other electronic devices are allowed when used with personal headphones. The pages do not mention power banks.

Strollers and family items

Strollers are permitted if they can be stored beneath a seat during the game and do not block walkways or aisles. One that does not fit must be checked at the First or Third Base Food Hall under the escalator, and the Rays are not responsible for lost or damaged strollers. Exceptions to the clear bag policy are one bag exclusively carrying needed medical equipment, and one diaper or infant bag up to 16 x 8 x 16 inches when a baby or toddler is with you.

Umbrellas, blankets and comfort items

Umbrellas are permitted inside the ballpark and must be placed under a seat. Umbrella bags are available at the gates when needed. The pages do not mention blankets and seat cushions.

Signs, flags and fan items

Banners and signs are permitted if they are baseball related and do not interfere with the field, other signage or other fans' views. Sticks and poles are not permitted, and derogatory language or symbols are not allowed. Banners, signs and flags are permitted if they are baseball related and do not block views. Poles and sticks are not permitted. The pages do not mention binoculars.

Medical needs and accessibility

One bag that carries only needed medical equipment is an exception to the clear bag policy, and so is one diaper or infant bag up to 16 x 8 x 16 inches when a baby or toddler is present. Food needed for medical reasons or childcare can also be exempted.

Security screening and arrival

Security screening takes place before entering the ballpark. Non-compliant bags go back to your vehicle or the fan is denied entry. The pages describe no re-entry rule, so ask guest services before leaving.

Bag storage and lockers

The security page says there are no storage options for bags that do not comply with the clear bag policy, and that prohibited items will not be stored. Fans return them to a vehicle or throw them away.

Rays games and other events

The pages are written for Rays home games. They give no separate list for concerts or other events, so check the event page for your date.
