Checked Source: Tottenham Hotspur bag policy and prohibited items page (tottenhamhotspur.com, opens in a new tab)Verified by BC

Short answer

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium allows one personal bag no bigger than A4 (21 by 30 centimeters), a club drawstring bag, or a clear carrier bag up to 30 by 30 centimeters. Bottles of any kind, liquids and food are banned, and there is no left luggage. Umbrellas up to 1 meter are allowed for football if kept folded.

Every rule at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

An item that is not listed is not mentioned in the official pages we checked. Each row links to the page its rule came from.

Bag policy in detail

The stadium has a restricted bag policy, and a bag that does not meet it is not allowed in. Bags are checked at an outer cordon as you approach the entrances, and every permitted bag is carefully searched. Large bags greater than A4 in size, 21 centimeters long by 30 centimeters high, are not allowed.

You can bring a personal bag of A4 size or smaller. You can also bring the club's PVC drawstring bag, sold in the online Spurs Shop, or a reusable drawstring bag for 1 pound from the Tottenham Experience. A clear carrier bag up to 30 by 30 centimeters is fine too, and the ones given with a purchase in the Spurs Shops before a match meet the size. Do not put a bag that breaks the policy inside one of these.

Laptop sleeves no larger than 37 by 31 centimeters are allowed, which is the size of the club drawstring bag. Anyone who brings a bag should expect to be delayed while security searches it.

  • One personal bag, A4 size or smaller (21 x 30 cm)
  • Or the club's PVC drawstring bag
  • Or a clear carrier bag up to 30 x 30 cm
  • Every bag is searched at the outer cordon

Food and drink

Bottles of any kind, glass vessels, cans and flasks are prohibited, and so are liquids of any kind, including water and alcohol. The page says the stadium has multiple water fountains throughout.

Food is prohibited too, although discretion may be shown for children's snacks. The page does not mention baby food or formula.

Cameras and electronics

Professional cameras, including cameras with interchangeable lenses, and recording devices are prohibited. Transmitting devices are prohibited too. The page does not mention tripods, selfie sticks, tablets or power banks.

Laptop sleeves up to 37 by 31 centimeters are allowed, and larger sleeves and any laptop bags are not.

Strollers and family items

Prams and pushchairs are on the prohibited items list, and the page says this may be assessed for each event. Check the page for your event before you bring one. Children's snacks may be allowed at the club's discretion, and the page does not mention nappy bags.

Umbrellas, blankets and comfort items

For football, umbrellas are allowed up to 1 meter in size, and they must stay folded inside the stadium. Umbrellas greater than 1 meter are prohibited. For other stadium events the rules may differ, so check the event's FAQ page.

The page does not mention blankets or seat cushions.

Signs, flags and fan items

Flags are welcome at matches. They should be no more than 250 centimeters at their widest or longest part, and flagpoles should be no longer than 1 meter. They must not block gangways, exits, entrances, safety signs or stairways. The club advises asking Supporter Services to pre-approve a flag at least a week before the match.

The club does not allow flags of any political or religious affiliation, or anything that could be seen as inflammatory, and that can include national flags during political conflicts. High visibility clothing, flares, smoke canisters, air horns, laser devices, darts, frisbees and unlicensed musical instruments are prohibited.

Medical needs and accessibility

If you have a medical condition that requires you to bring a bag or other equipment, complete the club's exemption form. Medical exemptions apply to the bag policy.

Service dogs and assistance dogs are allowed. Other animals are not.

Security screening and arrival

All visitors and their belongings are subject to a search at the stadium. Anyone in possession of a prohibited item is refused entry. Anything offensive, abusive, unsafe or usable as a weapon is confiscated and reported to the police.

You can expect queues before and after the match. The club says the information on the page can change without notice.

Bag storage and lockers

The club does not operate a left luggage service at the stadium. Any services from outside providers are not controlled by the stadium, and you use them at your own risk.

Football and other events

The umbrella and flag rules apply specifically to football fixtures and do not cover other stadium events. The page links to a separate prohibited items list for non-football events, and says requirements may vary.

Third-party event owners may have their own prohibited items list, which takes priority over the stadium policy. Those lists are published as far ahead as possible. Check the FAQ on your event's page.
