Short answer

Barclays Center allows only bags up to 10 by 6 by 2 inches that are not hard-sided, and guests without bags can use Express Lanes. Outside food, bottles, cans and coolers are banned, with medical exceptions. Signs up to 11 by 17 inches are allowed with no poles. There is no re-entry.

Every rule at Barclays Center

An item that is not listed is not mentioned in the official pages we checked. Each row links to the page its rule came from.

Bag policy in detail

Bags larger than 10 x 6 x 2 inches, and hard-sided bags, are not permitted. Special consideration is made for guests with medical needs and those caring for infants. All bags are screened and may be x-rayed. The pages do not name backpacks. Any bag larger than 10 x 6 x 2 inches is prohibited, so a backpack would have to fit that size. A purse is a bag, so it has to be no larger than 10 x 6 x 2 inches and not hard-sided.

The arena says to leave bags at home if you can. The bag policy does not apply to credentialed media.

Food and drink

Cans, bottles, boxed liquids and metal, glass or other insulated containers are prohibited. For certain sporting events, reusable water bottles of 24 ounces or smaller are allowed, and glass never is. Outside food and beverages are prohibited. Exceptions are made for guests with medical requirements or special needs, who should contact Guest Services ahead. Coolers of any size, soft-sided ones included, are prohibited.

Cameras and electronics

Professional camera equipment, meaning detachable lenses, lenses greater than 3 inches, external flashes, monopods, bipods and tripods, is prohibited, and so are audio and video recording devices. Detachable lenses and lenses greater than 3 inches are prohibited. Tripods, monopods and bipods are prohibited, and so are selfie sticks and poles. Drones are prohibited. The pages do not mention laptops, tablets and power banks.

Strollers and family items

Special consideration is made for guests with medical needs and those caring for infants. Current prescription medication in the original container is permitted if you can show ID matching the label. The pages do not mention strollers.

Umbrellas, blankets and comfort items

Pointed-tip umbrellas and large umbrellas are prohibited. Umbrellas also appear in the list of optical illusion items, so ask before bringing one. The pages do not mention blankets and seat cushions.

Signs, flags and fan items

Signs, flags and banners larger than 11 x 17 inches are prohibited, and so are any attached to poles or made of wood, metal, plastic or other hard material. They can also be banned by the production or if not related to the event. Flags follow the sign rule: nothing larger than 11 x 17 inches, nothing on poles, and nothing made of hard material. The pages do not mention binoculars.

Medical needs and accessibility

Special consideration is made for guests with medical needs and those caring for infants. Guests with dietary needs due to medical conditions can contact Guest Services at 917-618-6111 or guestservices@barclayscenter.com before the event. Current prescription medication in its original container is permitted with matching ID.

Security screening and arrival

All bags are screened and may be x-rayed, which can slow entry. The arena has a no re-entry policy. Management can prohibit other items as needed, and the production can add its own limits.

Bag storage and lockers

The pages do not describe bag storage or lockers.

Nets games, concerts and other events

The prohibited items page says items can also be banned by the production, and that reusable water bottles of 24 ounces or smaller are allowed at certain sporting events. Check the event page for your date.
