Short answer

Chase Center allows any bag up to 14 by 6 by 14 inches, clear or not, but bans backpacks except single-compartment drawstring bags. Outside food and drink, water bottles included, are not allowed. Bag check and bike valet cost a 10 dollar donation, and laptops are allowed only at Warriors and Valkyries games.

Every rule at Chase Center

An item that is not listed is not mentioned in the official pages we checked. Each row links to the page its rule came from.

Bag policy in detail

The arena encourages you to leave personal bags at home. The maximum size is 14 by 6 by 14 inches, and that covers all bags, purses, totes, fanny packs, diaper bags and medical bags. Bags do not have to be clear, and clear ones must meet the same size.

Backpacks are not permitted, with two exceptions: drawstring bags with one open compartment and fashion backpack-style purses with one open compartment. Bags smaller than 10 by 6 by 2 inches may enter at any entrance. Bags between that and 14 by 14 by 6 inches are x-ray screened in the designated lanes.

  • Any bag up to 14 x 6 x 14 inches, clear or not
  • Drawstring and fashion bags with one open compartment
  • No backpacks of other kinds
  • Larger bags go to the bike valet or bag check

Food and drink

Outside food and beverage are not allowed, and the guide names bottled water, reusable water bottles, alcohol, cans, bottles, flasks and coolers. Baby food is permitted. If you have a dietary request, you can email Guest Experiences and the arena will try to accommodate it.

Water fountains are available throughout the arena, at Portals A, B, 8, 12, 20, 24, 42, 45, 48, 49, 51, 52, 54 and 59.

Cameras and electronics

Cameras with telephoto or detachable lenses and external flashes are not permitted. Other cameras cannot have a lens longer than 3 inches when fully extended. Video and audio recording devices, GoPros, tripods, monopods, bipods and selfie sticks are prohibited. Some artists want a phone-free show, and then phones, smartwatches and cameras are banned.

Laptops, tablets and similar devices are prohibited, except at Warriors and Valkyries games. Drones are prohibited. The arena rents portable chargers for 5 dollars per hour.

Strollers and family items

Strollers are permitted. You can check yours at the Guest Services kiosks near Portals 13 or 53 during the event. Diaper bags count under the 14 by 6 by 14 inch limit. Baby food is permitted.

Umbrellas, blankets and comfort items

The umbrella entry in the A to Z guide says umbrellas are allowed at Chase Center. The prohibited items list, however, names umbrellas as optical illusion items, so the two entries disagree. Chairs are on the prohibited list. The pages do not mention blankets or seat cushions.

Signs, flags and fan items

Small signs, banners, posters and flags are welcome if they relate to the event, are no larger than 11 by 17 inches, are not attached to a stick or pole, and do not block sponsor signage or anyone's view. Noise-making devices, frisbees, beach balls, laser pointers and flashlights are prohibited. Face coverings are not permitted, except medical, surgical and safety masks, and limited face paint is accepted.

Medical needs and accessibility

Medical bags have to meet the same 14 by 6 by 14 inch limit as other bags. Medical, surgical and other safety-related masks are allowed. Trained service animals are welcome on a leash, tether or harness.

Security screening and arrival

Everyone goes through a metal-detector screening, and bags are x-ray screened. Doors open 90 minutes before Warriors and Valkyries games. There is no re-entry during events unless you have an unused ticket.

Bag storage and lockers

Oversized or prohibited bags can go to the Bike Valet on Terry A Francois Blvd or to the Chase Center Bag Check near the East Entrance, at the corner of Terry A Francois Blvd and 16th Street. Each asks for a 10 dollar donation, which is subject to change. Helmets can be checked free at the Bike Valet.

Warriors games and other events

The laptop and tablet exception is for Warriors and Valkyries games only. The pages say to check the event page on chasecenter.com for specific policies, and some events ban all cameras.
