Short answer

Amerant Bank Arena strongly discourages bags, and allows only bags, clutches and crossbodies smaller than 4 by 6 by 1.5 inches. Diaper, breast pump and medical bags are exceptions that get x-rayed. Backpacks, coolers, outside food and drinks, laptops and most strollers are banned, though one unopened plastic water bottle and umbrellas are allowed.

Bag policy in detail

The arena strongly discourages bags. Bags, clutches and crossbodies smaller than 4 x 6 x 1.5 inches are permitted, and clear bags are encouraged but not required. Diaper, breast pump and medical bags are exceptions that get a visual search and x-ray. Coolers, hard-sided bags and backpacks are prohibited, and so is any bag larger than 4 x 6 x 1.5 inches. Clutches and crossbodies smaller than 4 x 6 x 1.5 inches are permitted. Larger purses are prohibited.

Food and drink

Each guest may bring one unopened plastic bottle of water. Outside beverages, and metal bottles and cups, are otherwise prohibited. Outside alcohol, food and beverages are prohibited, apart from one unopened plastic bottle of water. Coolers and hard-sided bags are prohibited.

Cameras and electronics

Cameras with detachable lenses, GoPros and audio or video recording devices other than cell phones are prohibited. Unauthorized filming is not allowed. Cameras with detachable lenses are prohibited. Selfie sticks are prohibited, and so are items that obstruct views. Drones and unmanned aerial devices are prohibited. Laptop computers and tablets are prohibited. iPads are listed as permitted, so the page is not consistent on tablets. The page lists tablets as prohibited and iPads as permitted, so it is not consistent. The pages do not mention power banks.

Strollers and family items

Strollers are not allowed unless tickets are for Suites, Amerant Vault or Corona Beach House. Exceptions are made for diaper bags, breast pump bags and bags needed for medical purposes, which get a visual search and x-ray.

Umbrellas, blankets and comfort items

Umbrellas are permitted but subject to additional screening, and guests may not open umbrellas inside the arena. The pages do not mention blankets and seat cushions.

Signs, flags and fan items

Signs larger than 2 x 2 feet, signs with posts or poles, and signs that block views are prohibited. Flags, banners or signs that obstruct views are prohibited, and so are signs with poles. Binoculars without a case are permitted.

Medical needs and accessibility

Exceptions are made for diaper bags, breast pump bags and bags needed for medical purposes. All guests entering with them are subject to visual search and x-ray screening.

Security screening and arrival

Every guest goes through a walk-through metal detector, and all permitted bags get a visual or x-ray screening. Guests who exit after scanning their ticket cannot re-enter. Wrapped gifts must be pre-approved by the arena.

Bag storage and lockers

Bag lockers are outside the main entrance at the bottom of the Publix Plaza stairs and next to the main North and South Walkways. The page also says storage of prohibited bags inside or near the arena is not available.

The page applies to events at the arena, and says the guidelines can change at any time. Check the event page for your date.
