Short answer
Rate Field allows clear bags up to 12 by 12 by 6 inches, a one-gallon freezer bag, and a small non-clear clutch up to 9 by 5 by 2 inches. All backpacks, clear ones included, and all coolers are banned. You can bring single-serving food and one bottle up to 1 liter. Bag storage in Lot C costs extra.

Bag policy in detail
Permitted bags are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bags up to 12 x 12 x 6 inches, including a one-gallon freezer bag, and small non-clear clutches up to 9 x 5 x 2 inches. Diaper bags with a child present and medically necessary bags are also allowed after extra searching. Backpacks of any kind, including clear backpacks, are prohibited. A small non-clear clutch up to 9 x 5 x 2 inches is allowed, with or without a handle or strap. Any larger non-clear bag is prohibited.

Food and drink
Guests may bring one factory-sealed or empty plastic bottle of no more than 1 liter. Glass, metal and aluminum containers, tumblers, thermoses and flasks are not allowed. Single-serving food items may come in if they are in an approved bag or carried in your hands so they can be screened. Soft-sided coolers, hard coolers and ice chests are all on the prohibited bag list.
Cameras and electronics
Cameras and video cameras without detachable lenses larger than 8 inches are allowed if they do not disturb others. Selfie sticks and tripods are not allowed, and camera bags must follow the bag policy. Cameras with detachable lenses more than 8 inches will not be allowed. Tripods and selfie sticks are not allowed. Drones and unmanned aerial vehicles are prohibited. Computer bags are prohibited. The page does not say whether a laptop can come inside an approved bag. The page does not mention power banks. It describes portable chargers that guests can borrow. The pages do not mention tablets.
Strollers and family items
Strollers are permitted after a search at the gates. Smaller umbrella-style ones can be folded under the seat, and larger ones can be checked at any Guest Relations Booth. They cannot go in wheelchair accessible seating. Medically necessary bags and diaper bags with a child present are allowed after an additional search. Medical equipment such as breast pumps, insulin, epi-pens and oxygen may be allowed and is searched.
Umbrellas, blankets and comfort items
Small collapsible umbrellas are allowed, and ones with metal tips or larger than 10 inches are not. No umbrella may be open in the seats while the game is in play. The pages do not mention blankets and seat cushions.
Signs, flags and fan items
Signs and banners larger than 24 x 36 inches are not allowed, and neither are poles to display them. They cannot interfere with the game, be offensive, disparaging or political. Flags larger than 3 x 5 feet are not allowed, and poles to display flags are not permitted. Flags cannot be offensive, disparaging or political. The pages do not mention binoculars.

Security screening and arrival

Bag storage and lockers
An independent checking facility on the northwest corner of 35th and Shields in parking lot C holds restricted items for a fee. It opens when the gates open and closes 30 minutes after the game ends.

The guide is written for White Sox home games. It gives no separate list for concerts or other events, so check the event page for your date. The park was called Guaranteed Rate Field before it became Rate Field.
