Bag policy in detail

The only approved bags are one clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bag up to 12 x 12 x 6 inches, or a one-gallon clear zip-seal bag. A small clutch up to 9 x 5 inches can come in with one of them. Exceptions may be made for medical reasons or manufactured infant diaper bags. A small clutch no larger than 9 x 5 inches is allowed, with or without a handle or strap, and it is searched. Other purses are not on the approved list. The page does not name backpacks. Only the clear bags and the small clutch are listed as approved, so a backpack would have to be clear and within 12 x 12 x 6 inches.
