Short answer

Empower Field at Mile High follows the NFL clear bag policy: a clear bag or clear backpack up to 12 by 6 by 12 inches, or any bag up to 4.5 by 6.5 inches. Food in a clear bag, an empty plastic bottle up to one liter and collapsible umbrellas are allowed. Coolers, laptops and large umbrellas are banned.

Bag policy in detail

Any bag up to 4.5 x 6.5 inches is allowed, with or without a strap, fanny packs and crossbody bags included. Any clear bag up to 12 x 6 x 12 inches is allowed, including a gallon zip bag, a clear carry bag and a clear cinch bag. A clear backpack within 12 x 6 x 12 inches is approved. Other backpacks are listed as non-approved bags. Purses are on the non-approved list unless they are no larger than 4.5 x 6.5 inches or clear and within 12 x 6 x 12 inches.

Diaper bags are not permitted, but diapers and wipes can go in an approved clear bag.

Food and drink

Transparent plastic water bottles up to 1 liter, or 34 ounces, are allowed if they are empty at screening. Unfrozen non-alcoholic drinks in a permitted bottle go in an approved clear bag. Stainless steel bottles, glass, cans and frozen drinks are not allowed. Food of any kind is allowed if it is in an approved clear bag and meant for individual consumption. Coolers of any kind, thermoses and ice chests are prohibited.

Cameras and electronics

Still cameras with a lens of 6 inches or less can be carried loosely or in a clear bag. Single-purpose video cameras and video recorders are prohibited. Cameras and lenses must be 6 inches or less when fully extended. Tripods and selfie sticks are not permitted. Drones and other unmanned aerial devices are strictly prohibited on stadium property, parking lots included. Laptops are prohibited. Portable phone chargers are permitted. Battery packs with AA, C or D cells are prohibited, and lithium-ion packs for apparel can be up to 3 x 6 x 1 inches. The pages do not mention tablets.

Strollers and family items

Lightweight, collapsible umbrella strollers are permitted. Diaper bags are not. An exception may be made for medically necessary items after inspection and approval at gate screening. The stadium asks you to get in touch at least 2 business days ahead, by phone or through its contact form.

Umbrellas, blankets and comfort items

Small collapsible umbrellas can be carried in hand. Large golf-sized umbrellas are prohibited. Additional clothing, jackets and blankets may be carried in hand. One-piece foam seat cushions under 18 inches wide are allowed if they have no cover, zippers, pockets or concealable areas. Anything larger or with those features is prohibited.

Signs, flags and fan items

Banners and signs that are not event related, block another patron's view or are larger than 3 x 5 feet are prohibited. Flags that are not event related, block another patron's view or are larger than 3 x 5 feet are prohibited. Binoculars may be carried in loosely or in an approved clear bag. Binocular cases are not approved.

Medical needs and accessibility

An exception may be made for medically necessary items after inspection and approval at gate screening. The stadium asks guests to call 720-258-3000 or use its contact form at least 2 business days before the event, naming their section and the event.

Security screening and arrival

There is a no re-entry policy. Keys, coins and other metal objects have to be removed from your pockets and held in hand or in a clear bag. Smoking and vaping are not allowed inside except in designated areas. Outside alcohol means immediate ejection.

Bag storage and lockers

There are no provisions to check items at the gates. Lockers outside Gate 8, near the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame wall on the east side, offer a bag check for a fee. You can also return items to your car or throw them away at the gate.

Broncos games and other events

The page says this is the stadium's standard policy, and that the list may differ for concerts or other non-football events. Check the event page for the confirmed list.
