How the verified UK venues treat flags

Allowed with limits: Old Trafford, Allianz Stadium Twickenham, Principality Stadium, Hampden Park, Etihad Stadium, Celtic Park, Murrayfield Stadium, Anfield, Villa Park, Emirates Stadium, Wembley Stadium, The O2 and Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

    Flags larger than 2 x 1 metres, or with political, discriminatory or abusive messages, are prohibited, and all flags must be authorised by the Safety Officer. Poles and sticks are banned, mobility aids excepted.

    Banners are restricted, and the Scottish FA list bans flags with a pole or that are over 2 metres in height.

    Flags larger than A3 or on a pole longer than 1 metre or thicker than 1 cm are prohibited.

    Non-offensive flags of 2 x 1 metres or less are allowed with no sticks or poles. Other national flags are not allowed, except those of national teams playing at the stadium in international fixtures.

    For most events, large hand-held flags without poles are allowed if they do not block anyone's view. Flagpoles are prohibited, and some events ban flags of any size, which the pre-event emails say.

  • Tottenham Hotspur StadiumConditional

    Flags can be up to 250 cm at their widest or longest part, with poles no longer than 1 m. Political or religious flags are not allowed. The club advises pre-approval a week ahead.

    National flags are not permitted. Other flags or banners can be allowed with prior permission, and Israeli and Palestinian flags and related displays are not permitted for the foreseeable future.
