Can You Bring a Water Bottle Into NHL Arenas? All Rules

Of the 32 NHL arenas we have verified for water bottles, 14 allow them with limits and 18 ban them. Rules can change by event, so check the event page for your date too. Each venue below shows its own rule, the official page it comes from and the date we read it.

How the verified NHL arenas treat water bottles

A verdict here is a summary of the venue's own wording, and the rows below give that wording. Rules can change by event, so a game and a concert at the same venue can differ. See the water bottles guide for how every kind of venue treats them.

  • Each guest may bring one unopened plastic bottle of water. Outside beverages, and metal bottles and cups, are otherwise prohibited.

  • Ball ArenaConditional

    Empty metal or plastic bottles of 32 ounces or less, with no liquid or ice, are permitted at Nuggets, Avalanche and Mammoth games. They are prohibited at concerts and special events unless the tour says otherwise, and glass is never allowed.

  • Bell CentreNot allowed

    Outside food, drinks, alcohol, glass bottles and cans are forbidden, and so are souvenir cups.

Aluminum, stainless steel, single-use water bottles, metal, glass, flasks and thermoses are prohibited, and families with small children can bring baby bottles.
